A few kilometers out of Siena, in the heart of the beautiful Chianti area, in Castelnuovo Berardenga rises Borgo Monastery. It's an ancient monastery (IX century), surrounded by rural houses, in the middle of a 600 hectars' estate with a secular wood inhabited by protected animals, various cultivations, vineyards and old-aged olive-groves in the Tuscany landscape. The swimming pools are open march the 26th to the 29th of October. There is a 300 euro refundable caution deposit and some services are payable locally. Car hire is important and the Borgo Monastery can be reached from Pisa or Rome.
