Playa Blanca Information
The tranquil resort of Playa Blanca has a real relaxed atmosphere
and is ideally suited to quiet family holidays.
With the history of an
old fishing village, with its choice of tapas bars
and restaurants Playa Blanca is now one
of the most important tourist centres on the
island. Various attractive beaches make up this
part of the coast. Playa Blanca is a beach of
golden sand, easy to access from the promenade,
which ends where the port of Playa Blanca begins.
In the quaint commercial centre, green-shuttered
white buildings line the attractive waterfront
walk, with its old-fashioned lampposts and
pavement bars. Visitors to the beach can take
their pick from the sandy bays nearby, or the
central sun traps and gentle water of Playa Dorada.
At night, travellers can choose to while away
there evenings in one of the areas traditional
bars or cafes. For those who wish to venture out
of the resort, regular ferries run from the town
harbour to Fuerteventura, and the island's
Timanfaya National Park is easily accessible.
