The luxurious Gran Meliá
Volcán Lanzarote is located right alongside the Mediterranean Sea, next to the
"Marina Rubicón", and just 1 km distance from the picturesque
fishing-village Playa Blanca, located on the southern coast of Lanzarote. The
famous Playas de Papagayo beaches are just 5 km away, and the International
Airport of Arrecife (ACE) 20 minutes. On December 3, 1993 Lanzarote was designated
an important Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. The impressive Natural Park of
Timanfaya, known as well as the "Mountain of Fire" due to its volcanic
origin, is only 10 km distance from the Gran Meliá Volcán Lanzarote. The hotel was designed resembling a typical
village of southern Lanzarote, composed of a series of small buildings perfectly
blending into the countryside. Passing the spectacular, church-style entrance,
you enter the heart of the village, el Volcán (the volcano), where the
hotel’s reception lies, with bars, meeting-rooms, shops and lounges. Strolling
around the hotel, you'll find typically Spanish small squares and corners
inciting to sit down and admire the countryside. Thanks to its design, Gran Meliá
Volcán Lanzarote is becoming a symbol for the hotel sector of Lanzarote.
